Don't miss this movie  "NO REGRET"  - One Night/Showing ONLY

Join us on Wednesday, July 18th at 8 PM at the Regent Showcase Theater at 614 N. La Brea Avenue in  Los Angeles for the showing of NO REGRET.  This movie is part of Outfest 2007 and will have one showing - one night only!!  Mark your calendar -Don't Miss This Film!!  Click here for ticket information.

Beautiful, daring, and haunting, No Regret represents a breakthrough for both Korean queer cinema and independent filmmaking. Opening in only a handful of theaters, the gay-themed film not only garnered great reviews, it also managed to attract 40,000 moviegoers, setting a new box office record for an Independent film.

No Regret is the debut feature from Leesong Hee Il, Korea's first openly gay filmmaker. Leesong has long been a familiar name in the festival circuit, having directed the acclaimed short films "Sugar Hill", "Good Romance", and "La Traviata", which was a part of the omnibus Camellia Project - Three Queer Stories at Bogil Island. In No Regret, he continues to delicately explore universal themes of love and sexuality set against uncommon relationships.

No Regret presents complex, well-rounded characters that do not occupy convenient stereotypes. Lee Young Hoon, who starred in Leesong's "Good Romance", gives a stirring performance opposite Lee Han, who also appeared in last year's award-winning indie film Don't Look Back. The two young actors portray men of vastly different backgrounds, and the film subtly brings out issues of class structure and gay culture with both gravitas and good humor. The story is anything but predictable, capturing both the beauty and sorrow of love, heartache, and a life lived with No Regret.

Turning 18 years of age, Su Min (Lee Young Hoon) leaves his orphanage and moves to Seoul, working various jobs to save up money for university. After losing his job at the factory, Su Min ends up working as a male escort at a gay bar. Already close to hitting rock bottom, Su Min's life gets both more chaotic and more meaningful when Jae Min (Lee Han) walks into his life. Coming from a wealthy, conservative background, Jae Min keeps his sexual orientation hidden from his family. Although he is already engaged, Jae Min is willing to give up everything to be with Su Min, and the two fall into a passionate relationship. But when the realities of life catch up, love may not be enough.

This year is no exception -- as in almost every year since A/PGF's creation, we will be having a gathering which draws more members and friends than any other event -- July 4th Picnic-in-the-Park.    Yes, no other function thrills and excites as spending the day with good friends, great bodies, fabulous food and free soft drinks.

Yes, free soft drinks!  As a service to our members, A/PGF will provide a selection of soft drinks to quench our thirst as we partake of a veritable feast of foods.  This event is traditionally "potluck" with each person or group of people bringing what they can and sharing with other people at the picnic. Please bring "ready to serve" food.  We have no cooking facilities on the grounds.  There's always lots and lots of food for everyone, as long as everyone brings "something".

A/PGF will also have games for those that can not get enough of the monthly "game night" - of which has become a very popular monthly event.

Once again, we will gather in Griffith Park starting from 11 AM along Zoo Drive near Travel Town.  We are easy to find with our many colorful country flags flapping in the breeze around a large area jealously guarded usually by one or two brave souls who get there early.

Directions:  Get off the 134 freeway (E or W) at Forest Lawn and follow the signs to Travel Town/Griffith Park.  At the entrance to Travel Town, turn left and follow the road around and past the trains to our flags.  There is plenty of parking both along the road and in a (free) lot across from our gathering.  The fun starts at 11 AM and goes till ??

This event is open to everyone.  Non-members are welcome to attend.

So, bring your sunglasses, sun lotion and join your friends for a day of good food and socialization.

See you there!!!

Conventioneers for the IFWICON in the Minneapolis St. Paul (MSP) area will have numerous scheduled breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.  One of the highlight event will be the evening boat cruise and buffet supper.

For those attendees who are arriving early, you’ll be busy taking in the sights, but when you’re hungry, you won’t have to depend on fast foods.  There are many world class restaurants with top notch chefs.

At the Walker Art Center, “20.21”, Wolfgang Puck serves up his Asian-influence Californian cuisine.  You can visit with Chef Jean-George at CHAMBERS KITCHEN, located in the Chambers hotel.  CUE and the LEVE FIVE at the Guthrie Theater offer innovative dishes with fresh, regional ingredients.  Or head for the Riverfront and dine at SPOONRIVER, noted for its organic fare.

Not all upscale restaurants are attached to cultural centers.  In the nearby Warehouse District, 112 EATERY serves an international medley of flavors in a lay-back setting.  And for something more relaxed, head to Eat Street, a 17 blocks stretch of Nicollet Avenue, with more than 50 restaurants ranging from Asian to European fare.

The event registration fee of $235 has been extended until June 30, so don’t wait and get you fees in.  The website, www.iconifw2007msp.com, has more information—the registration forms, hotel accommodations, and the itinerary.  MSP is one of the busy hub airports for Northwest Airlines, so there should be plenty of flight available throughout the day.
