Join Artists at Play and the Latino Theater Company for their fourth collaboration in four years—a rare revival of David Henry Hwang’s deeply moving, Pulitzer Prize-finalist play, The Dance and the Railroad.

About the Production

Two workers. One strike. A shared dream.

Directed by Katherine Chou, this production stars Leonard Wu (American Born Chinese) and Scott Keiji Takeda (Flower Drum Song) as Lone and Ma, two immigrant laborers during the Chinese Railroad Workers’ Strike of 1867. High in the Sierra Nevada, the two form an unexpected bond through traditional Chinese opera, asserting their humanity and finding hope amidst brutal conditions.
